Something Special for that Special Someone
Home      Acknowledgements

I have always been into crafting in one form or another.  I started off making my own clothes, soft toys, cross stitch and much more.  I then discovered that I really loved making things for other people to enjoy.  I have always loved giving things to people.

I saw this programme where a lady was demonstrating card kits and rubber stamps.  Her name was Dawn Bibby.  That was such a long time ago that I have been hooked on creating handcrafted cards ever since.  I always hated the cards you buy in the shops.  They are all mass produced and not unique.  The card inserts never matched the card design that I liked or the design never matched the inserts that I liked, so I felt that I could never win.  That is when I thought that I could do better.  So I bought my first kit and started my first cards.  I have never looked back.

I love to design and create a card therefore producing bespoke cards for a particular theme based around the person I am giving the card to.  I then fit the words to match the person and occasion.

I then discovered a programme presented by Alan and Barry.  They were on Ideal World at the time.  They were brilliant and still are.  Their demonstrations were funny and they never forgot they were human and could laugh at their own mistakes.  They then got the Create and Craft channel set up and it was 24 hours a day of nothing but crafting.  I think it was Alan and Barry who truly put crafting on the map.  One of their guests was a lady called Chris Warner.  She truly put CD crafting on the map.  I have bought everyone of Chris's CD's and she is just a fantastic designer.  Her CD's are full of ORIGINAL designs and are perfect for every occasion.  Lynda Chapman now demonstrates all of Chris's products and she is very talented at what she does.  She is full of hints and tips and is very funny.  I always watch out for her shows and if I can't watch the shows live I always record them.

Then came Stephanie Weightman.  I had seen her on many channels demonstrating and she is a true professional and loves what she does.  I was really glad she joined Ideal World/Create and Craft.  She took over from Alan and Barry and is very much in the same vain as them.  She enjoys herself and takes crafting as a fun thing to be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age.  I love it when things don't quite go to plan.  It is much more fun that way.  That is after all what crafting should be FUN.

I have now just started designing cards for Sarah Hallam - Peerless Designs.  I just love her art work.  Sarah is a very talented artist and produces the most amazing images onto CD.  I just love producing new ideas to show off Sarah's beautiful images.  The images are what really set off my designs.

Ideal World and Create and Craft have so many brilliant guests I have named but a few below.
